It's time to Engage-NJ

This conference will connect you with other college students who are interested in taking your education out into the community to help play a crucial role in making your communities better at fighting inequality and injustice in all forms...BUT we are going one step further...

This conference will help you learn that because of your civic engagement and volunteering - you STAND OUT above others - in how you tell your story through your resume, or when you go for a job interview, or when you consider your next step in education. You have the tools to succeed.

Your volunteering and community engaged learning experiences actually develop 21st century workplace skills...that help you find meaningful employment and education opportunities and help you be an active and engaged member of society.

  • This conference will allow you to hear from leaders in business about what they are looking for and how your volunteer work is important to them

  • Recruiters will teach you how to stand out in telling your story of your skill-building civic engagement and volunteer experiences

  • You will get the chance to work 1 on 1 with career development people to improve your pitch, tell your story, and develop your resume

  • You will build connections with other students from across the state, through our Changebuilders program or other skill-building volunteer programs on campuses across the state

Saul Flores walked 5,328 miles through ten countries to document how grueling and dangerous the journey of immigrants to the United States can be and to raise money for an elementary school in Atencingo, Mexico. The story of his journey, accompanied by a series of photographs, capture the essence of the people, communities, and cultures he encountered along the way.
