APRIL
Eighty percent (80%) of New Jersey’s employers struggling to find recruits with the transferrable soft skills that are necessary in order to thrive in today’s dynamic workplace (NJBIA, 2020).
ARE EMPLOYERS LOOKING
IN THE RIGHT PLACES?
At each college and university here in New Jersey that are members of Engage NJ, there are literally hundreds of students who are gaining real-world experiences that develop essential soft skills over time. This happens when students volunteer in community settings and get involved in things like service learning that connects students’ education to real-world challenges.
WHAT'S THE SOLUTION THAT ENGAGENJ IS PROVIDING?
Employers are looking for a thriving workforce, so let’s connect them with you! Engage NJ will do this through a printed publication to be shared with our network and partners. Finally, we will use email and social media campaigns to maximize our reach.

ABOUT
OUR THRIVERS
Each April, Presidents nominate students from their campus and we award selected New Jersey students with the Changebuilder Scholars Award. These scholars are selected through a competitive statewide application process as part of Engage NJ’s AmeriCorps Changebuilders program. One awardee from each institution receives $1,000 to be used in any way that the awardees believe supports their continued success as students and engaged members of their communities. Supervisors and Coordinators can nominate up to three candidates from their own program.
